Chocolate specialities

In ancient times, only the Aztecs drank cacao. This bitter drink made from water, chili, vanilla, roasted cacao beans and maize meal was known as “Xocolatl”. Cortés imported it to Spain and, after improving it with sugar, it became a popular drink in Europe. Thanks to its special salubriousness and analeptic effect, in the 17th century in Europe cacao was used as a medicine.

Nowadays, “Secreto del Sur” makes use of this fine effect of chocolate specialities, offering a variety of cacao drinks like cacao with rum, açai or gofio, cacao cream and submarino.
